Socializing in French while having a good time!

Original opportunities to practice the language regardless of your level

Douze Zéro Deux regularly organises fun and festive events, open to all. Students have then a unique opportunity to meet Genevans and practice French within a warm atmosphere.

Among our past activities: a wine tasting at Domaine des Curiades, ping-pong and pétanque afternoons or a soiree mixing board games and raclette. Every time, French speakers and non-French speakers got to know each other and spoke for a few hours. A concept which has proved its worth! You don’t need to be one of our students to participate: come and attend the next event to meet us!

Erdal Özkan

Ruth C., (Thomson Reuters)

  • I’m learning French while discovering the cultural life of Geneva’s different neighbourhoods.
  • Erdal familiarised me with the Swiss political apparatus. It was very interesting!
  • I loved the evening party organised by Marie where we ate raclette and played board games with a bunch of French native speakers!

  • Dev P.
  • I have been taking regular classes with Erdal for 9-months. My comprehension and speaking skills have improved significantly. Erdal’s relaxed, fun and informative style actually makes me look forward to my French lessons – this has never happened with any of my previous French teachers (and I’ve had plenty!)

  • Caroline T., (The Global Fund)
  • For the past 2 years I have been participating in conversation classes facilitated by Douze Zéro Deux. I really feel I have made significant progress in understanding and speaking French.
  • Attending Erdal’s French conversation classes have really increased my confidence in speaking French with native French speakers.
  • Many of my French friends tell me that I have improved considerably since participating in the classes.

  • Markus G.
  • I have been in Geneva more than 10 years and struggled with French. I started lessons with Erdal a few months ago after a recommendation and he has revived my enthusiasm to learn the language. He is very knowledgeable on a wide range of topics, especially local issues which make the lessons fun and very interesting

  • Giovanni Z., (IFRC)
  • I now feel much more comfortable with my French. Thanks to these classes I have been able to improve my vocabulary and grammar, and have learned how to manage almost any conversation. I like the informal way of having conversations, which I believe makes learning fast and effective.

  • Alison L., (Thomson Reuters)
  • The flexibility offered by Douze Zéro Deux has meant we have been able to continue our lessons even with 2 small children!

  • Beatrice S., (Child Rights Connect, NGO)
  • Erdal creates a natural atmosphere for conversation, makes you want to say what is on your mind and brings forth the French in you. His insider information and tips on where to go and what to do in Geneva can be seen as the most important homework: meet the locals and use your French while doing what you like. In this way, and with the additional exercises, targeted specifically at my weaknesses, I felt my French improved greatly in a very short time.
